Kauai Mayor Carvalho Presenting Proclamation to the Filipino Community’s “Philippine Flood Relief Drive”

16 October 2009 - Kauai Mayor Bernard Carvalho presented to the Kauai Filipino Community Council on 3 October 2009 the Proclamation declaring October 2 – 11, 2009 as “Emergency Fund Drive Week”  requesting “the people of Kauai to join in the efforts to provide emergency relief to victims of the flooding in the Philippines.”

The Kauai Filipino Community Council has raised $9,188.00. All proceeds will go to the rehabilitation efforts to help the hundreds of thousands of Filipino families affected by the recent typhoons in the Philippines.
