5 May 2010. The Hawaii Association of Mapua Alumni (HAMA) held its 2nd Installation Banquet on 1 May 2010 and installed to office HAMA’s Officers and Directors for 2010-2012 headed by Mr. Vergel Del Rosario as President.
Consul General Leoncio R. Cardenas gave the Keynote Address and administered the Oath of Office to the new HAMA officers. In his remarks, Consul General Cardenas lauded HAMA for its unity as an organization and for Mapuan’s outstanding world-class reputation in the fields of engineering and architecture that help upholds the good image of Filipinos in the State of Hawaii.
Established in 2008 as an international affiliate of the National Association of Mapua Alumni, and capably guided by its Founder and Charter President Juny P. La Putt, HAMA keeps a full schedule of capacity-building seminars and socio-civic events for its 42-strong members. An indefatigable visionary and organizer, Mr. La Putt continues to encourage all members to play active roles in HAMA’s activities as it prepares to host the 2013 Mapua World Convention in Honolulu to be attended by hundreds of Mapua alumni from the United States, Canada and the Philippines.
