Consul General Cardenas spearheads "Get out and Vote" Campaign for the 2010 National Elections

8 December 2009. Philippine Consul General Leoncio R. Cardenas enjoins all Filipino registered voters in the State of Hawaii and American Samoa to mark the dates 10 April – 10 May 2010 for the casting of votes for the May 2010 National Elections for President, Vice-President, Senators and Party-List Representatives.

Registration of eligible voters were held from 1 March to 31 August 2009 at the Philippine Consulate General. In the same period, to facilitate registration in areas outside of Oahu and as part of its “Alay sa Kababayan” Outreach Program, the Philippine Consulate General sent Mobile Voters’ Registration Teams to Maui, Big Island (Hilo and Kona) and in American Samoa.

Casting of votes by overseas absentee voters will commence from 10 April 2010 to 3:00 p.m. of May 10, 2010 (Philippines time.) Advisories on the casting of votes and other election-related activities will be issued in due course.
